El concierto. De casi 2 horas de duración se hizo a casa llena en el Teatro Nacional
El trompetista Chris Botti fue la atracción principal de la noche del pasado miércoles en la celebración del 64 aniversario del Banco Central.
La sala Carlos Piantini del Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito, fue el escenario ideal para que el destacado jazzista estadounidense, con su repertorio extraordinario convirtiera la noche en un recital inolvidable.
Botti acompañado de un grupo de cinco virtuosos músicos, entre los que se encontraban el multipremiado pianista Billy Childs, realizó un total de 15 piezas, las cuales fueron aplaudidas en todo el trayecto de la velada musical.
En la primera parte de su concierto titulado “La música del viento”, Chris interpretó las piezas, “Ave María”, “When I Fall in Love”, “Emmanuel” y “Venice”.
Hablando siempre en inglés, el trompetista de marca mundial le dio paso a su primera invitada, la violinista Caroline Campbell, quien le acompañó en el tema “Flamenco Sketches”.
Tras realizar la obra clásica “Hallelujah”, el músico y compositor nacido en la ciudad de Portland hizo pasar a su siguiente sorpresa de la noche la cual, expresó, “es una artista poco común”, refiriéndose a la cantante norteamericana de R&B Lisa Fischer, quien desde su entrada lució su gran calidad interpretativa. Botti y Fischer montaron un show en los temas “Look of Love” y “Very thought of you”, esta última interpretada entre el público que estaba sentado en las primeras filas.
Otros temas. El exitoso artista instrumental también incluyó en el concierto obras musicales como: “Italia”, “Oblivion”, “Cinema Paraiso”, “Indian Summer” y “My funny valentine”.
El trompetista, quien se dirigió todo el tiempo al público en el idioma inglés, dijo antes de presentar a su invitada Lisa Fischer: “Les pido que quienes hablan inglés y estén sentado al lado de alguien que no lo entienda, hagan el favor de traducir, ok?”, esto desató la risa de todos en la sala.
