It was the Ritz for many years, it is one of the establishments with more history of Barcelona, and since last March, has decided to renew itself and open to the city.

They have changed the classic question "are you, customer of the hotel" for "pass, you are welcome". It seems little, but in the Palace (Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 668) it is a world. And within that universe, there is a secret that few know about. The Bluesman Cocktail Bar, in the basement of the hotel, is a classic cocktail bar where live music plays.

He chairs the venue, a painting by Ronnie Wood, the Rolling Stones guitar and neighbor of the hotel. He passed by the cocktail bar, and by the stage, where he started to play one night

respecto a la portada Bridges to Babylon :

Regarding the Bridges to Babylon cover:

Mick Jagger knew he had the perfect man to design the next Rolling Stones album.

The year was 1997 , but when the award-winning graphic designer met Jagger and the band in London to discuss concepts for Bridges to Babylon, he found there was a completely new brief.

"I had to come up with an idea for that new brief in time for another meeting that same day," he says.

Jagger encouraged Sagmeister to visit the British Museum and check out the Babylonian collection. Inspired by the sculptures, he devised a rampant Assyrian lion on its hind legs and parlayed this memorable image into Rolling Stones posters, stage designs and tour merchandise.

Salón 3: Meet the band

El cierre no podía ser otro que (I can’t get no) Satisfaction.

It Black ',' Honky Tonk Women ',' Start Me Up ',' Brown Sugar ' '
You can’t always get what you want' y '(I Can not Get No) Satisfacción' en el rendimiento de dos horas más todos capturados aquí en su DVD 'La Luna de La Habana'.

2016, the year The Rolling Stones rise from the ashes (the fire that never goes out!) Summary, Final Analysis

2016 was an explosive year! It was a year The Rolling Stones

Those who still await their retirement, those who still await the decline of the band, should continue waiting
For fans, those who are lucky enough to participate in "The Rolling Stones era", those fans, who do not have the magnitude, to be apostles of the band, greatest of all time: nothing astonishes us! And of course, we want more and more

2016 ran blood Stone, through our veins. 2016 had all the condiments we dreamed the Stones fans

(1)

2016 began with the expectation of the tour: "Latin America Olé tour 2016". In February from Chile (and its return from 1995), passing through Argentina, Uruguay (first time), Brazil, Peru (first time), Colombia (first time), Mexico ... and the most impressive, Power of the band, was the visit to Cuba in March. In the world, the real scope of the political distension between the United States and Cuba was commented on, but nothing better, that atmosphere of expectations, when Mick Jagger, taking the microphone, said to 1,200,000 people, in the Havana Sports City: "Things are changing, are not they?" The Rolling Stones have done the same show all their lives, or at least since 1989: giant screens, spectacular lights and a set of great hits. But of course, one thing is to perform shows, in London or the United States, and another is to perform a show in Havana: when Jagger received the Cuban flag, and sang Brown Sugar, it was clear that this was not an encounter with the music but With History.

June 2016, we visited the exhibition! . "Exhibitionism", I felt the emotion through our story (Report and Photos)

"Exhibitionism" was held between April and September, at Saatchi Gallery, London

"Exhibitionism", We visited the exhibition! . felt the emotion through this story.

In Chelsea, one of the most distinguished London’s neighborhoods, Saatchi Gallery, a contemporary art gallery, is located in a huge mansion in the middle of an area of green lawn. And upon arrival, and turn on the street entrance, my surprise and expectations began to tone ... on public roads three giant tongues, adorned the entrance, where people took photos in this previous exhibition.

"Exhibitionism" is not just any exhibition of the Rolling Stones; is "The exhibition of The Rolling Stones", and that is a giant staging about themselves as producers of the idea, which is to share a big piece of its history, and its inner world , as a band, as friends, as artists, and producers of this mega monster, rolling down over 50 years ago.

Jagger, Richards, Watts and Wood got into this adventure, assemble and produce with other partners, this exhibition of his work, from the beginning to the present, with DHL and Tommy Hilfiger, as sponsors for assembly.

First of all, I must say two important things:
(1) the gallery is huge
 (2) take photos is forbidden !!!,
so much so that in each room, a security person was responsible for reminding it, with any intention of taking photos, you could left out at any moment .... But I couldn´t fail you, being so far and come back with my empty hands, which, apologize quality and quantity of photos.

"Exhibitionism" consists of 9 large themed lounges, and in turn subdivided into smaller rooms. So let me tell you what is it about room by room.

Room 1: Ladies & Gentlemans

a big room, illuminated in red, with a giant sign that says: "Ladies & Gentlemans" on both sides, projected, dynamically, information graphics, to my right had a world map, showing the country move by country , year by year, the tours of their Majesties satanic, counting amount of: years, tours, concerts, tours, cities, countries and the number of audience. From 1962 to last concert in Havana, totaling 46,383,259 viewers, in all this time.

The chart on my left, counted it listed the songs, and year by year the number of: subjects, albums, hours, minutes and seconds of recordings.

Hall 2: Experience

The red room continue to another one completely in darkness, where a huge amount of mixed, vertical and horizontal screens, different inches and shaped curve, creating a wall of projections, photos and videos, into the next room, showing the main moments of the band from beginning in black and white until today in color.

Hall 3: Meet the band

Going through a tunnel and listening to the voices of Jagger and Richards, we arrived at a large photo, which occupies an entire wall, Bill, Brian, Keith, Mick and Charlie, seated on the sidewalk, the house of Edith Grove, Chelsea background, where they moved together, the adventure begins.

Room continuous to an apartment all filthy, smelly and messy, we passed a bedroom, a kitchen and a living room, with a rolling record of Chuck Berry, We are in 1963 Chelsea´s house recreation! Details are perfectly maintained and respected by the curator, Ileen Gallagher.

Another small room opens to pass the department, a mausoleum of instruments, which are 13 guitars and two bass in heavily guarded display cases, among the instruments are Keith Richard´s "custom ´72", "Les Paul 57" painted by Keith, Ted Newman Jones´s  first guitar prepared to Keith, a  Ron Wood´s "Zemaitis" and Jagger´s acoustic guitars.

In the center of this room, we have one of the best exhibition´s neveltys for our experience, some screens with headphones, containing 8 different Rolling sontes songs, what´s the new? We can mix it and listen channels individually, for example, and be able to hear Wood and Richard´s guitars separately on Start me up, or only the voice of Mick, Angie. Safety pin!!!!

Salon 4: Recording:

The room is entered a giant collection of letters, notes, agendas of the members, diaries, and drafts of issues that have no waste. Keith´s handwriting comments, their concerts, as they sounded, or whats happened. We can stay there reading for hours;  also audiotapes of the record collection, and several records. The end of this room is a complete and perfect recreation of the Olympic Studio where they recorded Sympathy fot the devil: including and respecting the order of the instruments, and selfsame instruments used in the recording. On the sides, and while we looked at the room, we can see and hear Don Was comments about produce with the Stones.

Room 5: Film & Video

Already on the second floor, entering through a corridor, we pass in front of the advertising posters of several films of the band, including: Sympathy for the devil of Jean-Luc Godard, Gimme Shelter David Maysles, Ladies & Gerntlemans Rollin Binzer, Let's Spend of night togheter Hal Ashby, Shine a light of Martin Scorsese, and Crossfire Hurricane Bret Morgen.

From there, we went to a show, like a movie theater, to sit and watch, take different films, commented by Martin Scorsese.

The last room projected a few seconds of each original video, as a complete videography review. You keep wanting more.

Room 6: Design

This room, one of the biggest, contains several rooms of the most entertaining you can see, starting with the first where you get a giant tongue of the Stones on which various flags, landscapes, colors and shapes are projected.

On the walls, you can see, from the tongue origins, with John Pasche 71, to Shepard Fairey´s tongue mash ups, to commemorate 50 years of the band.
The Walton Ford´s giant gorilla from GRRRRR LP cover occupies an entire wall.

The next room is madness .... Walls and display cases filled with design work, original templates caps vinyl, different cover´s versions, posters touring, advertising material for record stores, several world tours making scale model, Andy Warhol´s art and painting, among others, working with the Stones.

Room 7: Style

Another amazing creation of the exhibition. Exhibitionism worked to the public 3 giant fashion show, with mannequins wearing different original costumes from band dressing room. Divided in three great moments: starting KINGS ROAD, work of Andrew Loog Oldham, where are their main costumes, which they used for street and stage alike, from 62 to 69, GLAM from Hyde Park date, to Steel Wheels Tour, and finally SPECTACLE is the current phase, where different designers such as Marc Jacobs, Jean Paul Gaultier, Gucci, Gianni Versace, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, L'wren Scott and Tommy Hilfiger, dress the band. Tommy makes Comments on this last part of the exhibition.
The end of the room is a little gem: a fashion show with major outfits that use Jagger to interpret Sympathy for the devil live.

 Room 8: Rare

This room is a potpourri of elements of stones, that they treasure.

tours elements, instruments, relics, photos, videos and objects in general. Among the highlights are: the recorder that Keith use to record Street Fighting Man, with the sound that he wanted to achieve their raw guitars, song´s lists in their tones, painted by Ronnie in the backstage before each concert, and the best one: a get yer ya's cover recreation with a donkey and all that!!!!

The room continues with a moment dedicated to the collaborators of the band, listing among them (and commented by the very voice of Charlie, Ronnie, Keith and Mick) from Ian Stewart, going through all their keyboardists and singers to Darryl Jones.

Room 9: Performance

In this room, and knowing that was last one, I worry,  immediately distracted me a background audio ... .while watching this recreation of the backstage of the band (the "sanctuary" in Keith´s words), was heard, and no doubt about, "the Argentine public," chanting the stones !! This room recreates with all its elements, how live the stones previous times to stage, including the makeup room, lighting and the two racks, with Keith and Ronnie´s guitars within reach of my hand ... moving foward they deliver you a 3D glasses, it gets exciting, make you move to a room that makes you feel you are in a stadium, a field, and in front of you ... a stage .... when you want to react ... .satisfaction´s riff ... ..3D projection starts in Stone´s real size, playing the last concert of Hyde Park, goosebumps and tears.

In summary: 4hs much much emotion. At the end (you can't always get what you want), hard to accept that the exhibition had an end, but to beat the negative sentiment, nothing better than last compulsory for the store merchandising. Imagine that besides a foosball , you can buy a Tumbling Dice poster signed by Mick at 500 lbs ... ..

On September 16, The Rolling Stones presented the documentary that reflects the last Latin American tour at the Toronto Film Festival, where it was first exhibited: "Olé, Olé, Olé !: A Trip Across Latin America" ( December 12 was seen  in the United States cinemas)Paul Dugdale's documentary tells of each of the seasons of the "Olé Tour" tour: Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Cuba, but also of the setbacks, which had to overcome the team Producers of the Stones, to be able to realize the free concert, in the island governed by the Castro brothers for almost 60 years. The documentary by Dugdale, who has a vast experience, filming together with rock bands, should not be confused with "Havanna Moon", by the same director, who provides an immersive experience in the Cuban concert."The Rolling Stones Olé Olé Olé!" Seeks to reflect rather the link that musicians have been building with Latin America over the years, and in which Argentina - country to which the film dedicates one of the longest chapters - plays a key role.

The visit to Cuba, in turn, generated an energetic documentary: Havana Moon, whose soundtrack can be considered among the best of the 21st century, because it was thought for posterity. It is a concert carefully, with some variations such as having included the Cuban female choir Interviews in: You can not always get what you want. The closing could not be other than (I can not get no) Satisfaction. On 11 November 2016 Eagle Rock Entertainment will release ‘’Havana Moon’’ by The Rolling Stones on DVD, Blu-ray, DVD+2CD, DVD+3LP, Digital Video and Digital Audio plus a special Deluxe Edition.

Good Friday – 25 March 2016 – is a date that will go down in both Cuban and Rock ‘n’ Roll history. The Rolling Stones became the first rock band to play a massive free outdoor concert to hundreds of thousands in Havana. This historic concert was captured by award winning film director Paul Dugdale and the result is:
‘HAVANA MOON’ – The Rolling Stones Live in Cuba out on DVD

The British rockers free show attracted a million people in the country’s capital city in the same week as President Obama became the first US President to visit Cuba in 88 years. TV News Networks around the world reported that Obama was ‘the warm up act’ for The Rolling Stones. As the Stones took to the stage under a perfect ‘Havana Moon’ in front of an ecstatic crowd everyone knew that this was a life changing cultural moment for a country on the brink of change. There was nothing that was going to come between the band and their eager fans including the Vatican in Rome who had objected to a big rock ‘n’ roll concert staged in Havana on a Good Friday.

Mick Jagger welcomed the massive crowd: “Finally the times are changing, Cuba we are so happy to be here” and joked with his bandmates during the performance describing them as “the revolutionary Ronnie Wood, drummer Charlie Che Watts, and compadre Keith Richards”.

They played all the big hits including ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’, ‘It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll’, ‘Paint It Black’, ‘Honky Tonk Women’, ‘Start Me Up’, ‘Brown Sugar’, ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ and ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’ in the two hour plus performance all captured here on their ‘Havana Moon’ DVD.

As a Cuban Stones fan said, “Wow never, ever, ever did I think we would see this happen. Tonight has been a dream come true for me”, while another said: “Simply fantastic – this is a moment I have been dreaming about for a really long time. I have just witnessed the most important concert in Cuba because this is The Rolling Stones.”

On December 2, 2016, The Rolling Stones released "Blue & Lonesome," their first studio album in more than a decade. 'Blue & Lonesome' brings the band back to their roots and passion for blues music, which has always been in the heart and soul of The Rolling Stones. Our analysis on this work, was reflected in one of our post:"Blue and Lonesome", a trip to the past, with a future without limits and great ...

"Blue and Lonesome", would say that it represents: "the origin of the species". It's a statement of principles!

To say that the blues, represents in the musical life of The Rolling Stones, the base and the seed of its essence!

The Blues, the band's biggest musical base, is firmly represented in Muddy Waters' words: "The Blues had a son, and he called it Rock and Roll"

It is simply to have the suntance and without adulterating it with chemicals, is to renew it and enhance its beauty to the maximum musical fullness: its best achievement and combination.

"Blue and Lonesome" recorded 11 years after his last work "A Bigger Bang", does not have a single composition, of the magical pair: "Jagger - Richards"; ("Howlin Wolf"), Samuel "Magic Sam" Maghett, Miles Grayson, Edward "Eddie" Taylor, Otis Hicks, and Jerry West , Jimmy Reed, Edward Gladstone "Ewart" Abner Jr and Willie Dixon

The Rolling Stones, they stole once more, the music they themselves made popular in England, the music that brought them to success ... And this robbery, after 54 years, was done with respect, lucidity, and with codes Blueseros, only realized in "hardly" 3 days of recording, which transformed to "Blue and Lonesome", in a crude work, impeccable, disrespectful, addictive, oily, black to the soul: with seductive Mick Jagger, that takes honors And credits, through its harmonica ....

Before hearing "Blue and Lonesome", I imagined who would shine, by his DNA, would be my favorite bluesman: Keith ..., but NO! Still, the sound of Darryl Jones' bass, Charlie's usual rhythm, followed in a prominent order, to Mick's performance in the 42 minutes of the album.

A unique, unparalleled album, from which we dedicate it to the memory of Brian Jones!
Brian Jones from Heaven is: Blue and Lonesome
