Hasta el año 2014, cuando los Rolling Stones cumplían 52 años de existencia, había más de 60 álbumes publicados de la banda, 25 documentales, cientos de discos y vídeos piratas. Hasta el año 2012, había 1546 sesiones de grabación, 842 títulos registrados, y 1545 versiones capturadas en vivo. Hay cifras sobre la música y sobre las imágenes de "la banda de rock and roll más grande del mundo", pero nadie se pone de acuerdo , en el número de libros publicados sobre el tema. Ni siquiera cuidadosos coleccionistas como Bill Wyman, Chris Eborn o Geoffrey Giuliano, se aventuran a consignar una cifra aproximada: son incontables. Pareciera haberse escrito todo acerca de los Rolling Stones , (especulaciones sobre un posible asesinato de Brion Jones, memorias del drug dealer de Keith Richards, una novela titulada El hombre que mató a Mick Jagger...), pero la curiosidad no cesa. Hasta el año 2014, los Rolling Stones nunca habían estado en un intenso país sudamericano llamado Colombia. Sin embargo, Sandro Romero Rey (colombiano, rollingstoniano, escritor) se aventura con un juicioso y muy documentado chant d'amour a los creadores de "Jumpin' Jack Flash", donde se mezcla la crónica personal con el análisis, la loca pasión con la estadística, la reseña de conciertos con la literatura, el rigor con el divertimento. Aventura verbal a través de los sonidos, Piedra sobre piedra (confesiones de un adicto a los Rolling Stones) es un homenaje y, al mismo tiempo, una guía personal que el autor, ha construido para subirle el volumen al más exitoso de sus vicios solitarios.

Until 2014, when the Rolling Stones were celebrating 52 years of existence, there were more than 60 albums published by the band, 25 documentaries, hundreds of albums and pirated videos. Until 2012, there were 1546 recording sessions, 842 registered titles, and 1545 versions captured live. There are figures about music and about the images of "the biggest rock and roll band in the world", but nobody agrees, in the number of books published on the subject. Not even careful collectors like Bill Wyman, Chris Eborn or Geoffrey Giuliano, venture to record an approximate figure: they are countless. Everything seems to have been written about the Rolling Stones, (speculation about a possible murder of Brion Jones, memories of the drug dealer of Keith Richards, a novel called The man who killed Mick Jagger ...), but the curiosity does not stop. Until 2014, the Rolling Stones had never been in an intense South American country called Colombia.
