En una entrevista, concedida al canal América 24; canal de cable , Alberto Rodríguez Saá , actual Gobernador de la Provincia de San Luis , insistió en que “San Luis es otro país”, habló de pleno empleo, plan de obra pública, y se refirió a La Pedrera ( un nuevo Estadio , que se esta construyendo en la Provincia) , a la que definió como “símbolo”, y agregó que “va a tener un estadio , para 28 mil personas, y en su inauguración , jugarán los equipos de futbol Argentinos : River Plate vs Boca Juniors, por la mañana, y por la noche : actuarán los Rolling Stones" , todo el mismo día.
El proyecto oficial, incluye la construcción del Estadio Único, de Villa Mercedes , y obras complementarias, la ejecución del Parque , y el Circuito Automovilístico Internacional: “La Pedrera”.
La mega obra Parque “La Pedrera” tendrá un plazo de 365 días corridos para su ejecución. El 9 de julio del 2017, tal como ya lo adelantó , el jefe de Estado provincial, Alberto Rodríguez Saá, el proyecto estará terminado
