Anduvieron por todo el mundo durante los últimos 12 meses, dando conciertos en todas partes de América del Sur hasta Cuba.
Pero en algún punto intermedio de sus horarios y sus compromisos personales, los Rolling Stones lograron encontrar el tiempo para grabar un nuevo álbum: Blue & Lonesome . Grabado en solo tres dias en Londres, Inglaterra
El álbum está totalmente influenciado por los inicios de la banda, donde el joven grupo tocaría su propia marca de 'blues' de Richmond a Eel Pie Island en Londres.
El nombre del LP regala lo que los fans pueden esperar, joyas musicales para escuchar, como el primer trabajo de estudio de los legendarios rockeros en 10 años, que tiene que ver con la música blues

Participaron los musicos que trabajan con ellos desde hace mucho tiempo como el bajista Darryl Jones , Chuck Leavell y Mat Clidfford en los teclados, quienes se dirigieron a British Grove Studios para grabar un disco de estudio espontáneo y vivo.
Encerrados y grabando 12 pistas en más de 72 horas, a la banda también se unió en dos de las canciones con Eric Clapton.
Como de costumbre, Mick y Keith jugando un papel muy importante en el perfeccionamiento de la música y poniendo toques especiales en el producto final, a pesar de la labor de producción de Don Was.

They've been rocking all over the globe for the past 12 months, gigging everywhere from South America to Cuba.
But somewhere in-between their schedule and their personal commitments, The Rolling Stones managed to find the time to record new album, Blue & Lonesome.
The album is completely influenced by the band's beginnings, where the young rag-tag group would play their own brand of 'the blues' from Richmond to Eel Pie Island in London.
The LP's name gives away what musical gems fans can expect to hear, as the legendary rocker's first studio effort in 10 years is all about blues music
'We cut 11 blues in two days. They are extremely great cover versions of 'Howlin' Wolf' and 'Little Walter', among other blues people. It [the album] sounded so authentic.'
Joined by long-time touring partners bassist Daryl Jones and Chuck Leavell and Matt Clifford on keyboards, the icons headed in to British Grove Studios to record a spontaneous and live studio album.
Penning and recording 12 tracks over 72 hours, the band were also joined on two of the tracks by fellow guitar-wielding icon, Eric Clapton.
As usual Mick and Keith played a big role in refining the music and putting that special Stones sheen on the final product, though they were joined on production duties by Don Was.
Speaking about the Stones' latest effort, Don Was , said:
'This album is manifest testament to the purity of their love for making music, and the blues is, for the Stones, the fountainhead of everything they do.'
The album recalls the early days of the band, when they played the music of Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon, Eddie Taylor, Little Walter and Howlin’ Wolf.
