“El concierto de los Rolling Stones en Cuba, fue idea de toda la banda, la cual comenzaron a gestionar, hace más de seis meses”, comentó el publicista del grupo, Bernard Doherty.
Doherty transmitió las expectativas del conjunto, con vistas a su primera aparición en vivo en la Habana, el próximo 25 de marzo en los terrenos de la Ciudad Deportiva, a las 8:30 p.m. hora local.
“Charlie (Watts), Ronnie (Ron Woods), Keith (Richards) y Mick (Jagger), de veras quieren tocar en Cuba”, agregó el ejecutivo de la agencia LD Communications.
Doherty aseguró el excelente ánimo del grupo, y sus deseos de dar “un espectacular show en la capital isleña, luego de una maravillosa aparición en México ”.
“Tocar en una ciudad y un país , donde nunca antes lo habían hecho, ciertamente es muy emocionante para los Rolling”, añadió. Sobre la posibilidad de que la audiencia del espectáculo, sea de 500 mil personas, comentó que la banda, siempre entregará el 100 por ciento de sus energías durante la presentación.
“En el centro de toda la producción , y la presentación del espectáculo , lo más importante es la buena música que los Rolling Stones llevan a la gente”, concluyó Doherty.
Según medios internacionales, dicho suceso será la primera presentación de un grupo británico de tal género en el país, y el único concierto hasta el momento de los Rolling Stones en el Caribe.
El evento cerrará la Semana de la Música Británica en la capital isleña, que inicia el próximo 18 de marzo.
También marcará el fin de la gira Olé, de la banda por América Latina, que ha cultivado críticas muy favorables, con actuaciones multitudinarias, en estadios de Chile, Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay, Perú, Colombia y México.
El cantante de los Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, visitó la capital cubana el pasado octubre, e intercambió con músicos locales, recorrió el Centro Histórico, y conoció lugares de la vida nocturna , de la capita isleña como l" a Fábrica de Arte Cubano" y " el Café Teatro Bertolt Brecht".
En su cuenta de la red social Twitter, el vocalista expresó , que “este espectáculo en La Habana , va a ser un punto de referencia para nosotros, y esperamos que también lo sea para todos nuestros amigos en Cuba”.

It will also mark the end of the Olé tour, the band Latin America, which has grown rave reviews, with multitudinous performances in stadiums Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia and Mexico.
The singer of the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, visited Havana last October, and exchanged with local musicians, toured the historic center, and met local nightlife, the island's capital as "to Factory Cuban Art" and "Café theater Bertolt Brecht".
In his account of the social network Twitter, the singer said that "this show in Havana, will be a benchmark for us, and we hope it is also plain to all our friends in Cuba".
