A principios de los sesenta, McFall, transformó a The Cavern de un club de jazz en un local de rock and roll.
Además de The Rolling Stones , pasason por The Cavern los Beatles , los Yardbirds o John Lee Hoker, entre otros. Tras quebrar en 1966, McFall cerró The Cavern. Años después se abrió otro local, reproducción del anterior, en la misma calle, que hoy es una atracción turística
