El Centro Cultural Bancaja acogerá a finales de junio la exposición 'Sympathy for the Stones', que repasará la trayectoria de la mítica banda The Rolling Stones, un auténtico "icono del siglo XX", con una selección de más de un centenar de piezas como fotografías, cuadros, carátulas de discos y audiovisuales, ha avanzado la entidad.
La Fundación Bancaja presentará tres nuevas exposiciones en su programación del segundo semestre de 2014 que tendrán como protagonistas, además del grupo musical, a Pablo Picasso en su relación con la televisión y al modelo pictórico de las majas de Goya en interpretaciones de pintores valencianos y españoles del periodo de entre siglos, explican los responsables de las actividades en un comunicado.
La primera de las exposiciones, 'Sympathy for the Stones', se inaugurará a finales de junio y dará continuidad a la serie de muestras que la Fundación Bancaja ha dedicado a iconos de la cultura del siglo XX como Andy Warhol o Marilyn Monroe.
La muestra ofrecerá al público un recorrido por la trayectoria y aspectos más emblemáticos de la banda de rock, que este año cumple 50 años de vida sobre los escenarios. Comisariada por Fernando Castro, crítico de arte y profesor de Estética y Teoría de las Artes de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, la exposición reunirá una selección de más de un centenar de piezas entre fotografías, cuadros, discos, objetos, producciones audiovisuales y fragmentos de sus conciertos.
La exposición se lleva a cabo en colaboración con otras instituciones como el IVAM y Magnum Photos, que aportan obra, así como prestigiosos fotógrafos de rock como Michael Putland, Ebet Roberts, Bob Gruen o Gus Coral y coleccionistas privados.
