It’s only rock’n’roll”, “Honky tonk women”, “Miss you”, “Ruby tuesday”, “Paint it black”...

O el escenario rojo sangre en “Simpathy for the Devil”.

Transfusion of rock and roll ( Live Hyde Park , according to Argentina Release)

It seems quite the miracle that a band can celebrate 50 years of career with concerts as compressing this double CD + DVD, but Their Satanic Majesties did this year at the famous London park .

The Rolling Stones instituted long ago the idea of taking studio albums only as an excuse to tour . And in recent years even that : building on 50 years of the band , just appeared a couple of new songs in the Triple compiled Grrr ! . The tour , of course , was a success, with two major milestones : the first time I played Their Satanic Majesties at the famous Glastonbury festival and return to London's Hyde Park, where Mick Taylor as guitarist debuted in 1969 after the death of Brian Jones. The combination of these two shows footage that was first iTunes exclusive , now just appeared in physical form , in an edition double CD + DVD . Yes, another live album of the Stones. As for more than one wonder if really needed , if you really can continue considering these septuagenarians " rock band of the world 's largest " and , for the most extreme , if the very idea of the Rolling Stones has some sense at this point .

And then the first chord sounds " Start me up" , the skin crawls front stereo and each of these prejudices is going to hell either . Because Sweet summer sun is far more than the document that mixes footage of two concerts by the Rolling Stones : it is a change of blood transfusion rock and roll. Prejudiced in any case , must wonder why musicians that could be Mick Jagger 's great-grandchildren are not even able to approach energy deployment . Or why not emerged in many years of rock , who can shoot a guitar like riffs from Keith Richards. Every one of the reasons to love the Rolling Stones are compressed into these disks everlasting shine songs ( "It's only rock'n'roll ", " Honky Tonk Women " , "Miss You," " Ruby tuesday" " Paint it black" ...too many!) , in versions that exude freshness unthinkable for gentlemen who should be rocking in a nursing home , and delivered a crowd more participatory , which functions as the band pass for generational differences .

If listening to the two CDs you can tell all that splendid shooting Paul Dugdale becomes so obvious that it is almost a truism describing walking ... The DVD is from the vastness of the crowd to the detail of the open Marlboro and white barbed tongue up with the famous guitar amplifier Richards. From Jagger bull by the huge gateway to the final flight of small flowers with red paper , having been thrown through the air during closing with " (I Can not Get No ) Satisfaction " by the ripples still and empty stage. From shots of concert - goers of all ages and aspects - up shots in the evening sky in London is only clipped for energy figure of the singer. Sweet summer sun supplements counts concert with testimonies of the four Stones and special guest Mick Taylor , but only audio : for the obviousness of the "talking heads" , the director chose descriptive and / or poetic images . The only drawback is that the DVD has no subtitles .

To avoid repetition of adjectives that can reach excess, suffice it to the description of some moments of the concert . For example , "Midnight Rambler " with a fat añoso Taylor, but possessed . Or the red stage blood in " Sympathy for the Devil" . Or the performance of the Showgirl Lisa Fisher in "Gimme Shelter" . Or perfect assembly with the London Youth Choir for an unforgettable version of "You can not always get what you want" . Or one ajustadísima "Honky Tonk Women " , for which Jagger donned the same white camisole 1969. And, of course , " (I Can not Get No ) Satisfaction" , something like Stonelandia National Anthem , preceded by the words of the DVD players. " If you 've done for as long as I have been doing it, just because you believe that is not yet out quite right ," says Richards , the man who dreamed that immortal riff. An exaggeration , obviously , if there is a great song , it's probably that. But Jagger, Richards , Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood believe they can still go further with that or any other subject, who would dare to contradict them ?
