Le dieron el puesto a pesar de las burlas más recientes acerca de su edad, piensa que él y los Rolling Stones sólo han mejorado en los últimos años.

A medida que su carrera musical ha progresado, Ronnie Wood, ha seguido su pasión por la pintura y el dibujo. Sus temas van desde colegas inmediatos de la banda de rock and roll, el rock y otros famosos músicos rollo que ha admirado, conocidos y en ocasiones ha jugado. Familiares, amigos, animales y, por supuesto, los autorretratos quizá mostrar un lado más privado.

Para Bluesfest 2012, Ronnie no sólo ha creado una obra de arte impresionante que es, pero será comisariado lo que promete ser un espectáculo muy especial en el Hammersmith Apollo, que celebra el gran ajedrez Records. Ronnie va a traer a lo largo de unos amigos muy especiales a rugir clásicos como No Particular Place To Go, At Last, My Babe, Hoochie Coochie Man, I’d Rather Go Blind, I’m A Man, Smokestack Lighnin’, Forty Days and Forty Nights, Maybellene   - No te pierdas este show !

RONNIE WOOD & FRIENDS – CELEBRATING THE CHESS RECORDS STORY

Ronnie Wood first saw the Rolling Stones at the Richmond Jazz Festival back in 1964. As he was going inside, he saw a van open up and the five of them tumbled out of the back. "I knew I belonged in that band" he says, "I've always been a believer in fate. I counted on it happening... I just had to wait it out."

By 1975 Mick Taylor wanted to leave the Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were looking for a replacement. Ronnie Wood flew to Munich to audition. He got the job and despite more recent jibes about their ages, thinks he and the Rolling Stones have only improved over the years.

As his musical career has progressed Ronnie Wood has continued his passion for painting and drawing. His subjects range from immediate colleagues in the rock and roll band, to other famous rock and roll musicians he has admired, known and has sometimes played with. Family, friends, animals and of course the self-portraits perhaps show a more private side.

For Bluesfest 2012, Ronnie has not only created some stunning art which is but will be curating what promises to be a very special show at Hammersmith Apollo, celebrating the great Chess Records label. Ronnie will be bringing along some very special friends to roar out such classics as No Particular Place To Go, At Last, My Babe, Hoochie Coochie Man, I’d Rather Go Blind, I’m A Man, Smokestack Lighnin’, Forty Days and Forty Nights, Maybellene - miss this show at your peril!
