El que fuera bajista de los Rolling Stones hasta el año 1993, Bill Wyman, desplegó ayer en Palexco su espectáculo junto a The Rythm Kings, después de once años desde su primera visita a la ciudad. El músico venía de agotar las localidades en su concierto de Bilbao -el pasado domingo- y entusiasmó al público coruñés con una mezcla de temas clásicos del rock y el soul, canciones de su repertorio en solitario y éxitos de los Stones. El músico inglés reconoce que la chispa del rock se mantiene "haciendo lo que a uno le gusta"

El legendario rockero Bill Wyman, ex bajista de los Rolling Stones, desembarcó ayer en A Coruña acompañado de su banda, The Rythm Kings, con los que ofreció un concierto en Palexco en el que repasó grandes clásicos del soul, rythm & blues y rock and roll, además de otros temas de su repertorio en solitario y, cómo no, de su etapa en los Rolling Stones. El músico inglés señaló ayer a este periódico que nunca le ha resultado difícil rodearse de grandes músicos y elogió a su banda.
Wyman salió al escenario a las 21.05 horas vestido de negro. El recinto presentaba un tercio del aforo y el primer contacto del artista con el público fue un "vamos a pasar un buen rato". El que fuera bajista de los Stones hasta el año 1993 actuaba por segunda vez en A Coruña: la primera había sido en el año 2001, el primer concierto que ofreció en España con The Rythm Kings. Salió con ganas Wyman, que ayer apuntaba que su concierto sería "un espectáculo estupendo con muy buena música".
No defraudó. Los asistentes animaban y coreaban los temas, entregados al sonido potente y trabajado de Wyman, que se ha granjeado un sinfín de reconocimientos en todo el mundo, aunque no solo por haber formado parte de los Rolling Stones: "Soy músico y siempre he hecho muchas y diferentes cosas. Afortunadamente, nunca he tenido problemas para encontrar amigos que supieran tocar muy bien y les apeteciera pasar un buen rato, como es el caso de los Rhythm Kings, donde cuento con unos músicos increíbles", comentaba Wyman ayer. Y es que The Rythm Kings es una banda compuesta por ocho músicos de renombre y reconocida trayectoria, entre ellos George Fame, considerado uno de los mejores organistas del mundo y socio habitual de Van Morrison; Geraint Watkins, de las bandas de Nick Lowe, Paul McCartney y Eric Clapton; Nick Payn, músico de B.B. King y Gary Moore; y Frank Mead, colaborador de Eric Clapton y Phil Collins.
Los temas más coreados del concierto fueron, como estaba previsto, los de los Stones y Dancing in the street, que hicieron moverse al público coruñés, que corroboraba que el espíritu rockero de Bill Wyman, que entonó You never can tell, sigue muy vivo. El propio Wyman respondía ayer a la pregunta de cómo mantener encendida la chispa del rock: "Haciendo lo que a uno le gusta". El músico cerró su recital en A Coruña después de una hora y media, aclamado por un público al que ya se había ganado muchas canciones antes.

Wyman himself yesterday responded to the question of how to keep alive the spark of rock: "By doing what one likes." The musician closed his recital in La Coruna after an hour and a half, acclaimed by a public that had already won many songs before.
