Los Rolling Stones no saldrán de gira este año para celebrar su 50 aniversario. Eso sí, tal y como explican Mick Jagger y Keith Richards a la publicación Rolling Stone, se marcan como "objetivo" hacerlo en 2013. "Tengo el presentimiento de que el año que viene será más viable", plantea el guitarrista.

Según este medio, la razón por la que la rumoreada gira mundial se aplaza es la salud de Richards, quien cuenta ya con 68 años, pues no está claro que pudiera soportar una gira de esta magnitud por todo el planeta. Además, plantea como posibilidad que no sea una gira al uso con centenares de viajes, sino una serie de conciertos en estadios de algunas grandes ciudades.
A pesar de no salir a la carretera este año, el grupo se mantendrá bien ocupado a partir del próximo mes con proyectos como nuevas grabaciones de estudio y un gran documental. "Sólo tenemos que juntar a los chicos de nuevo y ya saldrá algo. Tengo muchas ideas en la cabeza, pero no están grabadas", dice Keith.
La maquinaria de los Stones se puso de nuevo en marcha tímidamente el pasado mes de diciembre en una reunión en un estudio londinense. Allí tocaron juntos de nuevo, incluso con la participación de su ex bajista Bill Wyman, que abandonó la formación en 1992. Precisamente sobre una hipotética vuelta de Wyman, Richards dice que cree que "él estaría dispuesto", y confiesa que ya han hablado del asunto.
Jagger dice sobre aquella cita que "fue muy bien" y tocaron "mucho blues, descartes de 'Some Girls' y cosas por el estilo". Richards añade: "Fue como un regreso a las grabaciones de nuestros orígenes. Hubo mucha improvisación. Al tercer día, Mick apareció. Qué alegría nos dio. Porque eso nos animó aún más, ya sabes".
El mencionado gran documental, dirigido por Brett Morgen y montado a partir de 50 horas de entrevistas, se estrenará el próximo otoño y retratará el medio siglo de la banda desde su formación en 1962, con imágenes y música inéditas. "Brett me ha contado que el 80% del filme contiene cosas jamás publicadas, lo que me asombra muchísimo. No sabía que quedaba tanto material oculto", admite el guitarrista.
"Los Stones siempre hemos considerado 1963 como el año de nuestro nacimiento, porque Charlie (Watts) no se incorporó hasta enero de ese año. Vale, 2012 es como el año de nuestra concepción, pero el 50 aniversario de nuestro nacimiento llega el año que viene", recalca Richards, dando así más sentido a la esperada vuelta a los escenarios de la legendaria banda en 2013.

The aforementioned great documentary, directed by Brett Morgen and assembled from 50 hours of interviews, will premiere next fall and will portray the half century of the band since its formation in 1962, with unpublished images and music. "Brett told me that 80% of the film contains things ever published, what amazes me so much. I did not know there was so much hidden material," admits the guitarist.
"The Stones have always considered 1963 as the year of our birth, because Charlie (Watts) was not incorporated until January of that year. Okay, 2012 is the year of our conception, but the 50th anniversary of our birth comes a year comes, "recalls Richards, giving more meaning to the expected comeback of the legendary band in 2013.
