"All your love" de Otis Rush, grabada en 1958.

Uno de los mejores temas del disco junto con "Ride 'Em On Down" y I can't Quit You Baby"

"Hate to See You Go" (esta canción esta en "Sol")  de Little Walter.

Mick Jagger's Harmony That Sweetens Our Ears (Blue & Lonesome) Analysis by Damian Rende

Surprised by the work of Mick Jagger and his harmonica, we decided to consult, to a specialist of the matter, the development of the singer and his instrument, in the new album: "Blue & Lonesome"

Damian Rende: Voice, harmonics and percussion, from Casino Boogie, a band tribute to The Rolling Stones.
 Here your analysis:

Hello to all "Stones Please Don´t Stop readers. "I wanted to leave a simple review, about the new Lp of the Rolling Stones" Blue and Lonesome "

What can I say, on this album of 12 covers of blues, that has not already been said?

In truth, very little, but in addition to giving them a humble opinion, I will punctually turn to the work of Jagger, both in the voice, as in harmonics, from my point of view as harmonigist and singer.

Already, or most of us know, that the disc contains 12 songs, from the masters of the blues, but with songs not so well known by most of us.

It has been recorded in 3 days, almost without overdubs, and 100% in analog form. Undoubtedly we can say, that the engine of the disc, is jagger with his voice and his harmonica.

In my specific case, I was surprised that they recorded, an album of these characteristics, since it has no antecedent whatsoever (the closest was Jagger's album, with the American band The Red Devils, back in 1992), where they recorded a Disc of blues, together but it is not Mick, that executes the harmonicas in said disc.

Let's go back to Blue and Lonesome, and Jagger's Harmonicas work. It has been a while since Mick, is using Armonicas Lee Oskar, one of the best brands in the market.

Beginning the analysis, with the first song of the disc:

"Just Your Fool" song by Buddy Johnson in 1953, and recorded by Walter Jacobs (Little Walter) in 1960, released as a single in 1962. The song is in "A", and Mick's harmonica is performed very faithfully Little Walter version, as appropriate. Mick does not usually use a special microphone, or equipment to record harmonicas, unless I have knowledge.

"Commit a Crime" A song recorded by Howlin 'Wolf in 1966 and included on Howlin' Wolf's "London Sessions" album in 1971. The song is in "E" and Jagger is dressed in harmonica and voice, Well in the style of Wolf.

"Blue and Lonesome" (This song is in "G") by Little Walter Jacobs singer and harmonica THE 1959. I take off my hat, in front of the harmonies and voices of Jagger, very Little Walter, in his utmost expression.

"All your love" by Otis Rush, recorded in 1958. (This song is in "A") I love how Jagger sings this song, so raw and heartbreaking. Simple and short arrangements with the harmonica, but with a lot of class.

"I gotta go" (This song is in "A") in Little Walter, again Jagger, shows us who his teacher is in the harmonica, (not forgetting that Brian Jones was really his real master) interpreting this subject excellently . In my opinion, I keep the arrangements, which made them Jagger, than those of Little Walter in the original version.

"Everybody Knows About My Good Thing"  (This song is in "A") by Little Johnny Taylor, composed by Miles Grayson and Lemont Horton. In this song we do not have Mick on harmonicas, but we have Eric Clapton as guest, with his unmistakable sound. One of the best tracks of the album along with "Ride 'Em On Down" and I can not Quit You Baby "

Ride 'Em On Down' ( (This song is in "B") original song of 1937, recorded by Bukka White. The version made by The Rolling Stones is that of Eddie Taylor of 1955. I love the strength, The Stones to this song, since the 1955 version of Taylor, refers me a lot to the blues of Jimmy Reed. The Rolling Stones gave a thread, with a version more "up tempo", more rampant, and with something Boogie too.I have to take off my hat again, before Mick harmonicas.I was never a virtuoso of this instrument, I love his versatility, which is not very abundant.

"Hate to See You Go" (this song is in "G") by Little Walter. Again Jagger shows us, that he can play Walter, like a few. Both the voice and the harmonics, refer to Little Walter by 110%.

"Hoodoo Blues" by Lightin 'Slim (this song is in "D") dark theme of Slim, with harmonicas well "fat" of Mick, and adjusted to the original version. Excellent version

"Little Rain": Song of Jimmy Reed, that used to cobble together Brian and Keith. Even Keith said he had not touched her since that time. I was surprised by the quality with which Mick interprets the classic sound of Jimmy Reed with harmonica, which is not easy to achieve.

"Just Like I Treat You": (this song is in "G") theme by Willie Dixon, popularized by Howlin 'Wolf.
Very well done Howlin 'Wolf style version. Simple but effective harmonica arrangements.

And we said goodbye, with some of the best songs on the album. With the classic "I Can not Quit You Baby" (this song is in "A") Composed by Willie Dixon, and played by Otis Rush.
Second theme, with Eric Clapton as guest, which delights us with two terrible solos, and its unmistakable sound. Jagger ran a small other at the end of the subject, worth the redundancy.

I hope you are satisfied with the work and I send a hug to everyone.
Thank you Marcelo Tejera for your proposal.

Casino Boogie is a band tribute to The Rolling Stones, native of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

After shaping the project during part of 2012 and early
2013, we began to play live the year that year and we have received a warm welcome, acceptance and encouragement from the general public and especially from fans of the Rolling Stones in Capital Federal, Greater Buenos Aires and surroundings, and by social networks Like Facebook, which gives us the possibility of getting to know us in other places, besides the circuit where we make our presentations.
Casino boogie is a tribute to the best rock band of all time, made with a lot of passion and dedication by friends with different musical influences, but with the same love in common for the Rolling Stones, Blues, Rhythm & Blues And Rock'n'Roll.

We used the same tunings as the original songs (for example, many Rolling Stones songs were composed with five string open tuning guitars: open tuning with 5 strings) and interpreting them in this way, the true sound of the original songs is achieved .
Our English in the songs is native. We do not sing for phonetics.
We have a set of themes that is rotated in all our concerts and cover the vast majority of the Rolling Stones' career. We have the honor of having a luxury godfather, Adam Cooper, son Michael Cooper, legendary photographer of the 60's, the Rolling Stones and The Beatles.

"Blue and Lonesome": A trip to the past ,  with a future without limit and great ... (Final analysis)

"Blue and Lonesome", would say that it represents: "the origin of the species". It's a statement of principles! To say that the blues, represents in the musical life of The Rolling Stones, the base and the seed of its essence!

The Blues, the band's biggest musical base, is firmly represented in Muddy Water's words: "The Blues had a son, and he called it Rock and Roll"

It is simply to have the suntance and without adulterating it with chemical products, is to renew it and enhance its beauty to the maximum musical fullness: its best achievement and combination.

"Blue and Lonesome" recorded 11 years after his last work "A Bigger Bang", does not have a single composition, of the magical pair: "Jagger - Richards";
Walter Jacobs (Little Walter) , Chester Arthur Burnett (Howlin Wolf), Samuel "Magic Sam" Maghett,  Miles Grayson , Edward "Eddie“ Taylor, Otis Hicks y Jerry West, Jimmy Reed, Edward Gladstone "Ewart" Abner Jr  and Willie Dixon

The Rolling Stones, they stole once more, the music they themselves made popular in England, the music that brought them to success ... And this robbery, after 54 years, was done with respect, lucidity, and with codes Blueseros, only realized in "hardly" 3 days of recording, which transformed to "Blue and Lonesome", in a crude work, impeccable, disrespectful, addictive, oily, black to the soul: with seductive Mick Jagger, that takes honors And credits, through its harmonica ....

Before hearing "Blue and Lonesome", I imagined who would shine, by his DNA, would be my favorite bluesman: Keith ..., but NO! Still, the sound of Darryl Jones' bass, Charlie's usual rhythm, followed in a prominent order, to Mick's performance in the 42 minutes of the album.

A unique, unparalleled album, from which we dedicate it to the Brian Jones memory!

Brian Jones from Heaven is: Blue and Lonesome

Dedicated to my friend: Javier Leal (who insistently requested this final report)
