Murió Giorgio Gomelsky, primer manager de los Rolling Stones

Un nombre importante dentro de la historia del rock. Fue el primer manager de los Rolling Stones. Giorgio Gomelsky había nacido en 1934 en Georgia. Vivió también en Italia y Suiza antes de instalarse en Londres, a fines de los ‘50. Fue en esa época cuando comenzó a frecuentar la escena de blues, visitando distintos bares de la capital inglesa.

Le dio vida al Crawdaddy Club, donde se presentaron en varias oportunidades los Rolling Stones. En 1963, el grupo cambió de manager y comenzó a trabajar con Andrew Loog Oldham. Giorgio siguió trabajando con grupos y representó a los Yardbirds, entre otros.

A fines del ’70, Gomelsky se instaló en Nueva York donde también abrió un local por donde pasaron varios artistas. Murió el 13 de enero a los 82 años a causa de un cáncer.
