Los Rolling Stones regresan aEd Sullivan el 15 de enero de 1967 a realizar un conjunto de nuevas canciones que incluyen de su pronto ( a ser lanzado) álbum, "Between The Buttons". El primer número, "Ruby Tuesday" fue una actuación memorable porJagger y compañía y entonces la banda siguió con una versión notable censurada de "Vamos apasar la noche juntos." Ese mismo día CBS y Sullivan habían exigido que Mick cambiara la letra ,"Vamos a pasar la noche juntos", a "Vamos apasar algún tiempo juntos." Cuando la banda se resistió, Ed emitió el ultimátum: "O la canción, o ustedes se van ." finalmente, después de estar de acuerdo, la banda fue recordando en repetidas ocasiones sobre la línea cambio durante el ensayo general. Mick, harto de que le digan qué hacer, discutió el talento coordinador de Vince Calandra, cuando le recordó una vez más que tenía que cambiar la letra de la canción.
Durante la realización de la canción en vivo,Mick hizo lo que se dijo, pero puso los ojos en tono sarcástico y exagerado en el momento de mencionar la frase .En el programa de la semana siguiente, CBS repite el desempeño de los Rolling Stones en "Ruby Tuesday", pero decidió no volver a ejecutar el controvertido "Vamos a pasar la noche juntos."

Mick, Fed Up With Being Told what to do, cussed out talentcoordinator Vince Calandra, When He was Once Again Reminded I need ed to change the lyrics of the song.
