Mark Fisher, architect and stage designer, dies at 66 years old.

Unfortunately today we have to report the death of the architect and stage designer Briton Mark Fisher at the age of 66 years.

As indicated in the note posted on its website, Mark Fisher, died last June 25 in London, accompanied by his wife Cristina who was accompanying to the end after a long illness with which he was struggling to finish stoically, courage and his usual good humor.

Mark Fisher worked as a designer and art director for the greatest artists the world over the last 25 years. In their study called Stufish, Mark created extraordinary designs for Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, U2 and many others worldwide.

With the Rolling Stones, Fisher worked closely with drummer Charlie Watts - himself a former graphic designer - as well as Mick Jagger, who considered the scenery crucial to the way the Stones continued their provocative contemporary twist. It has not always been an easy relationship because "Bridges to Babylon" the band toured in 1997, for example, Fisher proposed a telescopic bridge that connects two parts of the series, only challenged by Keith Richards: "What the f ** * want it? "But when Fisher returned 10 months later with an animation that illustrates the same idea, Richards said," That's great, we have to have one of those. "

No doubt a great loss to the entertainment world.

Rest in Peace.

Rolling Stones hit a publishing deal with BMG

Keith Richards and Mick Jagger signed an agreement for the company to represent its music catalog, the agreement is the first made by musicians with an outside company for 40 years.

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

Frankfurt, Germany (Reuters) - The Rolling Stones came to an agreement and closed a new publishing deal, just as it approaches a series of concerts that possibly increase the interest in the musical catalog of legendary English rock band.
BMG, part of the German publisher Bertelsmann, has signed an agreement to represent the musical catalog of the Stones, who are on tour celebrating his 50 years in the music world.

The company did not give a valuation of the contract, in which BMG responsibilities will range from market and to license songs for movies, television and advertising to ensure that composers are paid correctly by the use of their works in the various services digital music.

It is the first new publishing deal with a foreign company in 40 years to Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, the duo led the Stones and the rights of those who share the lyrics of many of the best known hits of the band.

EMI Music Publishing, which owns the band's songs that were published from 1971 to 1983, was the last to sign an agreement with them before the Stones were made to the control of his own compositions.

BMG assume from July 1 direct responsibility for all songs written by Jagger and Richards since 1983. Additionally, will be responsible for managing operations of the couple on their copyrights prior to 1983, with songs like "Angie" and "Brown Sugar".

"This agreement is incredibly important to BMG," he said in a statement the company CEO, Hartwig Mausch. "Keith and Mick have created one of the most spectacular collections of songs in the history of rock and roll," he added.

The Stones, who released their first single, a version of "Come On" by Chuck Berry in 1963, are preparing to perform at the British festival Glastonbury this weekend before playing more dates during the summer in London.

The agreement with BMG remaster comes after all their music catalog to Apple's iTunes Store last week.

Mick Jagger joked about Obama and the White House espionage

Mick Jagger said during the concert in Washington that despite the absence of the President on the show, it probably was listening. The crowd groaned, but it was unclear if it was the joke or official policy espionage.

The Rolling Stones were terminated his concerts (for now) of the tour "50 and counting" by the United States and did so with a big show in Washington DC, in addition to his big hits included a political joke by Mick Jagger , who came down from his ivory tower and gave a comment on the scandal of illegal wiretapping conducted by the executive in charge of Barack Obama.

"I do not think that President Obama is here, but I'm sure they're listening," he joked Jagger and provoked boos from a part of the public, but due to the views crossed it was not clear if it was a sign of disapproval to comenterio or a sign of rejection of the policy of espionage practiced by the White House.

The American political class soon echo the almost septuagenarian Jagger joke. Sen. Rand Paul tweeted the quote almost immediately, to the delight of his followers.
Meanwhile, Obama's biographer, David Maraniss, said the relationship between the President and the music is good and even disloyalty told that in their college years, Obama imitating Jagger in his famous "chicken dance".

In addition, it is worth remembering that both sang together months ago at a gala tribute to the blues that took place in the White House.
However, Jagger has confessed not long ago as a conservative, he expressed his love for the recently deceased Margaret Thatcher.

The Rolling Stones , GLastonbury weather: Don't panic, the weekend is set to be dry

Festival set to be overcast with some sun

With just a few days to go until this year's Glastonbury, festival goers can look forward to a dry weekend, although sunshine may be scarce.

Glastonbury weekend is set for underwhelming June temperatures, as our grim summer continues - but forecasts today do not, at least, suggest that Worthy Farm will become a mud bath as it has on many previous occasions.

Wednesday and Thursday on the Glastonbury site seem set to be the days of the festival most likely to see sunshine, while man days Friday, Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be overcast, but dry, with sunny spells through the day - according to Accuweather. Temperatures across the weekend are set to peak at a potential 24 degress, with a night time low of 9 degrees, states BBC weather.

Early weather reports suggest that Glastonbury would suffer a downpour after 2013's extended period of poor weather, but early fears have now passed and music fans heading to the southwest for performances from the likes  Rolling Stones can ease off on packing the waterproofs.
