(SPDS) Cuándo y cómo descubre que le gusta la pintura?
...no recuerdo bien.
Solo que cuando a los 7 años me mandaron , varios años , al conservatorio a estudiar piano, a esa edad ya dibujaba con carbón de bolsa , en el asfalto de las calles de mi pueblo y me pasaba hermosas horas "jugando" a dibujar..
En todo ser humano hay en la pubertad y en la adolescencia algo así como: " pasar por el Sarampión del Arte", bueno algunos quedamos enfermos para siempre, pero en la pubertad o la adolescencia es común el "meterse" en algo artístico, aunque aún no se sabe si es o no una vocación..
Solo cuando hacer arte llega a ser en uno, una "necesidad imperiosa: denota algo vocacional...."
(SPDS) Quiénes fueron sus maestros?
Nadie y muchos.
.Yo no tuve una formación académica, podría denominarme autodidacta, pero siempre alguien o algo actúa como maestro de la vida
El arte no es solo el aprender la técnica.".es además, una forma de vida".
Yo desde muy jovencito pintaba mucho y solo, en mi pueblo de la llanura cordobésa, había una Academia Municipal, en esa época todos los vecinos nos conocíamos y un día fui a anotarme para estudiar y aprender algo mas sobre las técnicas de la pintura . El maestro director , era un consumado pintor y no me recibió como alumno, le pedí explicaciones y me respondió que no , porque yo era un chico muy anarquista! ..tenía razón!.
Entonces comencé a golpear puertas, en mi vieja motocicleta, recorrí kilómetros . Provincia de Córdoba, Santa Fe , buscando artistas destacados en las zonas. No solo a pintores, a poetas, musicos, actores..de todo . siempre que fueran mayores que yo en edad ; siempre algo agregaba a mi entusiasmo de artista inculto ; así fui acrecentando mis conocimientos y enriqueciéndome con la experiencia ajena..
Me quedaba días charlando y haciendo cosas con ellos. Conocí La casa y la familia de Fernando Fader, Martin Santiago (su discípulo), Spilimbergo, José Pedroni, F. Vidal, R.Supiciche, en fin mucha gente espiritualmente rica ; vivenciando mi joven deseo de crear bien, aprendiendo, trabajando, estudiando la Cultura viva. Y luego vino Ernesto Sábato, algo muy especial en mi vida..
(SPDS) Cómo definiría su estilo?
Como definición común y ligera le pondría algo así : " Expresionista , mezcla de abstracto con figuración" .
(SPDS) Cómo definiría el arte?"
Lo que me dijo Spilimbergo en la puerta de su último techo, en Unquillo , Sierras de Córdoba (yo tenía unos 16 años) : "ah, el Arte..una larga paciencia ... no tome ni fume, dibuje, dibuje, dibuje.."
Eran maestros que tenían la Cultura del Trabajo. Con poco decían mucho y a través del tiempo.
(SPDS) Qué busca plasmar a través de sus cuadros?
Plasmarme, ser yo; interpretar e interpretarme y de acuerdo a lo que me proponga o me propongan, mi identidad , y ya soy una mezcla extraña de culturas de la que no reniego.. menos aún en la actualidad, donde todo ha cambiado tanto y rápidamente, donde se ha mezclado lo bueno con lo malo, la mediocridad con el talento, para confundir al ser humano y consumir la basura que tira el mercado..
La "globalización" nos quitó identidad como pueblo y como individuos.
(SPDS) Si tuviera que elegir algunas de sus pinturas, cuál sería y porqué?
Un diez por ciento es muy buena el resto regular.. malas no hay ..!
((SPDS) Cuáles son sus proyectos inmediatos?
Poder pintar y dibujar todos los días.
(SPDS) Cómo y cuando conoce a Adam Cooper?
Adam, bueno él vino hace muchos años a argentina casado con Silvia Ripoll , una hermana mía de la vida , que hacía montajes cinematográficos con Alejandro Doria y otros grandes del cine de los años 70, ahí vi por primera vez las fotos de su padre, Michael Cooper.
(SPDS) Qué lo inspiró a representar las fotografías de Michael Cooper en sus cuadros?
Michael era un fotógrafo completo , es mas un Artista en la mayoría de sus obras, un hombre muy refinado, culto, sensible y trabajador..
Muy pocos fotógrafos en los años 60 en Londres eran invitados a colgar junto a pintores en Galerías de Arte y él era uno de esos pocos.
Además nuestra afinidad conceptual también me animó a aceptar la invitación a participar de esta muestra , mis cuadros son un tributo a Michael Cooper.
(SPDS) Si tuviera que elegir una de las fotos de Cooper cuál elige?
Varias..
Un artista nunca está completo por una obra..un espectador tampoco,además el gusto no interesa tanto como saber disfrutar sus componentes estéticos , que van mas allá de lo temático : " a valorar la estética no nos enseñan, no está en los planes educativos ; no es "utilitaria ".
Michael Cooper es tan artista fotografiando a los Stones como a un hoja caída en la vereda..
Es un gran artista y gozarlo depende de la capacidad de observación, del público .
(SPDS) Se sabe que la exposición recorrerá algunas provincias de Argentina y algunos países? Ud expondrá también?
No depende de mi, los organizadores de esta gira son Adam , Silvia Cooper y el Centro Cultural Borges.
Me preguntaron si quería seguir la muestra itinerante por provincias argentinas, Chile, San Pablo-Brasil - y Londres. Yo dije que si, espero sea asi.
(SPDS) Esta definido las fechas , los lugares y los plazos de dicha "gira" ?
Éso está definido por Adam Cooper y el Centro Cultural Borges.

(SPDS) Qué opina y representan los Rolling Stones para Ud?
Una Banda de Rock muy famosa, de una trayectoria en tiempo y espacio, diría que única , aunque no me defino como seguidor único de ellos, me gusta la buena música en su amplia variedad de géneros..
(SPDS) Qué le aconseja a los que se inician en este arte?
Lo que siempre les digo a mis alumnos el primer dia de clases : "Trabajo, trabajo y trabajo"
Eso incluye , estudiar por supuesto..
Pero no hay otra manera, que la Cultura del Trabajo. (tan destruida tan maltratada, desfigurada . Los jóvenes, os que nacieron después de los años 80, creo que volverán a ese tipo de manera de vivir. Son la bisagra de la nueva civilización del planeta y pasará este mediocre PostPost Modernismo.. En estos chicos hay que confiar, hoy.! , mas allá de los Dogmas.

Nació en la Provincia de Córdoba, Argentina , el 11/11/1942
Mas de 50 años de permanente actividad artística
Ejerce la docencia artística, privada y oficial desde 1967.
Su cercanía, en sus inicios a la familia de Fernando Fader, su contacto con Spilimbergo, Supisiche, Alonso, Berni, Carpani, Campanella, Venier, Cañas, a músicos y escritores, actores en sus años de formación fueron referentes claros. Pero su amistad con Ernesto Sábato incidió notablementeen su formación y crecimiento profesional al posibilitar su venida a Buenos Aires .
Expone individualmente desde los 18 años, y obtiene su primer premio de Pintura a los 21 años en Mendoza. Aunque participa desde muy joven de Salones Provinciales y Nacionales. Múltiples premios lo destacan en su joven trayectoria. Entre ellos, recibe el primer premio adquisición en el salón del Banco Provincia de Córdoba .
En 1971 presenta su primera muestra en Buenos Aires en "Galería Castagnino" del teatro del Pueblo, invitado por Leónidas Barletta. En 1976 invitado por el Museo de Arte Moderno, en el teatro San Martín. Ese mismo año es contratado por cuatro años como artista exclusivo de la Galería Alhep, Buenos Aires.
Expone por selección en el Salón Nacional de Pintura en los años 1973, 1974, 1976 y 1979.
De las últimas muestras en su país se pueden destacar entre otras, "Grandes Maestros de la Pintura Argentina" Galería Palermo H, "Maestros Argentinos" en el Palacio Alvear.
En el año 2007 en el Museo Evita se realiza la muestra "18 miradas sobre Evita", dicha muestra itinerante recorre las principales ciudades de nuestro país, Europa y Nueva York, Usa
En el año 2008 su obra sobre Evita "Del Trigal a la revolución" es seleccionada por Presidencia de la Nación, Secretaria Nacional de Cultura y Presidencia dle Museo Evita, como portada de la guía dle Museo.
Diversas notas en libros, revistas y diarios de Argentina fueron de los mas detacados críticos sobre su obra, C. Magrini, Alifano, Manuel Rey Millares, Vera Ocampo, Dieguez Videla, etc . 2008 figura en el libro "La pintura en Argentina" de Maria Laura San Martín.
Poseen obras suyas, Museos y pinacotecas privadas de nuestro país y del extranjero.
Dotado de un natural dominio dle Dibujo, excelente colorista, construye sobre bases sólidas sus obra, renovando su calidad y creatividad plástica, estudioso permanente, no se cansa de decir: " Lo mejor de mi carrera está por venir , y vendrá, trabajando con persistencia, tendiendo claro que la cantidad poco tiene que ver con la calidad ... el arte también es tiempo, sensibilidad ciencia conjugando la experiencia" .

( SPDS ) When and how did you discover that you like to paint ?
well ... I do not remember .
Only when at age 7 I was sent several years , the Conservatory to study piano at that age and drew with charcoal bag on the asphalt of the streets of my beautiful town and spent hours "playing" to draw ..
In every human being there at puberty and adolescence something like: " Measles go through the Art " , well some were sick forever, but at puberty or adolescence is common to "get " something artistic, but it is not known whether or not a vocation ..

( SPDS ) Who were your teachers?
No one and many .
. I did not have an academic background , could call myself self-taught , but always someone or something is the master of life

I painted a lot from very young and alone, in my hometown of Cordoba plain, was a Municipal Academy , at that time all the neighbors knew each other and one day I went to put me down to study and learn something more about painting techniques . The head teacher, was an accomplished painter and received me as a student , I asked explanations and he said no because I was a kid anarchist ! was right .. ! .
Then I started knocking on doors in my old motorcycle , I walked miles. Province of Cordoba , Santa Fe, looking artists featured in the zones. Not only painters, poets, musicians , actors .. everything. provided they were older than me in age, is something they added to my enthusiasm uneducated artist , so I was adding to my knowledge and experience enriqueciéndome with others ..
Days I was talking and doing things with them . I knew the house and family of Fernando Fader, Martin Santiago ( his disciple ) , Spilimbergo, José Pedroni , F. Vidal, R.Supiciche , finally many people spiritually rich ; experiencing my youthful desire to create good , learning , working, studying, living culture. And then came Ernesto Sabato, something very special in my life ..
( SPDS ) How would you define your style ?
As a common definition and light would put something like " Expressionist , mixed with abstract figuration ."
( SPDS ) How would you define art? "
What Spilimbergo told me at the door of his latest ceiling, Unquillo , Sierras de Córdoba ( I was about 16 years old) : " ah , art .. a long patience ... do not take or smoke , draw , draw , draw .. "

( SPDS ) What inspired you to represent photographs of Michael Cooper in his paintings ?
Michael was a complete photographer, is more an artist in most of his works , a sensitive man very refined , educated, and hardworking ..
Very few photographers in the 60's in London were invited to hang alongside painters in Art Galleries and he was one of those few.
Besides our conceptual affinity also encouraged me to accept the invitation to participate in this show, my paintings are a tribute to Michael Cooper.
( SPDS ) If I had to choose one of the photos of Cooper chooses what ?
Several ..
An artist is never complete for a work .. a viewer either, besides the taste not so interested as to know to enjoy its aesthetic components that go beyond the theme : " aesthetics rating not teach us , is not in the school curriculum , it is not " utilitarian " .
