The Rolling Stones han manifestado sus condolencias respecto a Allen Toussaint, quien lamentablemente falleció a la edad de 77 años, el pasado 9 de noviembre a causa de una falla cardíaca.
Toussaint, se desempeñó como cantante, pianista, arreglista y compositor. Él es reconocido como un símbolo del sonido de Nueva Orleans, ícono y figura esencial del rhythm and blues. Se trata de un personaje que no tuvo temor de mezclar otros estilos , como el funk, soul, góspel. Incluso, nos dio grandes piezas sonoras como “Working in a Coal Mine” y “Southern Nights”.
También fue destacable su papel como productor. Trabajó con la reina del soul, Irma Thomas, asimismo con Otis Redding, The Meters, Dr John, The Band, Little Feat, Paul Simon, Sam & Dave, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Winter, Eric Clapton, Elvis Costello y The Rolling Stones, que a través de sus redes sociales , publicó a modo de homenaje: “Fortune Teller”, una canción escrita por Toussaint , pero que fue interpretada por ellos , para Got Live if You Want It! (1966).

The Rolling Stones have expressed their condolences regarding Allen Toussaint, who sadly passed away at the age of 77 years, on November 9 because of a heart failure.
Toussaint worked as a singer, pianist, arranger and composer. He is recognized as a symbol of New Orleans sound, icon and key figure of the rhythm and blues. This is a character who was not afraid to mix other styles like funk, soul, gospel. Even he gave us great sound pieces as "Working in a Coal Mine" and "Southern Nights".
