Ron Wood y Rod Stewart resucitan a The Faces para un concierto benéfico

Se celebrará el 5 de septiembre en el Hurtwood Park Polo Club de Ewhurst, en Surrey

Cuarenta años después de su separación, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood y Kenney Jones,  resucitarán a The Faces para un concierto benéfico,  que se celebrará el 5 de septiembre en el Hurtwood Park Polo Club de Ewhurst, en Surrey (Reino Unido).

"Este año es el 40 aniversario , desde que nos separamos, así que es momento de reunirnos para tocar un poco. Estar en The Faces fue una locura pero, oh Dios, fue más que brillante. Estamos encantados de apoyar a Prostate Cancer UK", dice Stewart,  en un comunicado recogido por Pitchfork.

The Faces se reunieron en 2009 sin Rod Stewart, quien sí intentó estar cuando la banda , entró en el Rock n Roll Hall of Fame en 2012, aunque tuvo que cancelar sus planes,  por enfermedad. Los otros dos miembros del grupo, Ian McLagan y Ronnie Lane, ya fallecieron.

Sobre la reunión, Kenney Jones ha asegurado sentirse "increíblemente excitado por tener la oportunidad de subirse al escenario de nuevo con Rod y Ronnie Wood". "Ian McLagan y Ronnie Lane serán añorados, pero levantaremos nuestras copas por ellos".

Forty years after their separation, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Kenney Jones, rise to The Faces for a benefit concert to be held on September 5 at the Hurtwood Park Polo Club in Ewhurst, Surrey (UK).

"This year is the 40th anniversary since we broke up, so it's time to get together to play a bit. Being in The Faces was crazy but, oh God, it was more than brilliant. We are delighted to support Prostate Cancer UK" Stewart says in a statement picked up by Pitchfork.

The Faces met in 2009 without Rod Stewart, who did try to be when the band entered the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, but had to cancel their plans due to illness. The other two members of the group, Ian McLagan and Ronnie Lane, and died.

On the meeting, Kenney Jones has said he was "incredibly excited to have the opportunity to go on stage again with Rod and Ronnie Wood". "Ian McLagan and Ronnie Lane will long for, but raise our glasses to them."
