Raices Stones . Chicago Blues Festival 2015 rendirá tributo a Muddy Waters y Willie Dixon.

CHICAGO- El departamento de Asuntos Culturales y Eventos Especiales,  anunció que para la edición 32 del Chicago Blues Festival, se rendirá tributo a las leyendas del blues, Muddy Waters (1913-1983) y Willie Dixon (1915-1992).

Este año,  el festival tendrá lugar del 12 al 14 de junio. El 12 de Junio,  sera el homenaje a Waters , “el padre del Chicago blues moderno” ; y a Dixon, “el poeta laureado del blues”, tendrá lugar el 14 de junio a partir de las las 5:30 pm , en la concha acústica del Petrillo , en Grant Park.

Estos dos músicos son referente en la música local y en el blues en general. Han influenciado a generaciones de músicos como los Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Buddy Guy y Chuck Berry, así como a un sinnúmero de artistas del blues, jazz y rocanrol.

En el evento , participarán familiares, antiguos compañeros de banda, amigos y hasta “protegidos” de estos músicos. Billy Branch and the Son of Blues serán los que arrancarán la celebración ese día.

Stones Roots. Chicago Blues Festival 2015 will pay tribute to Muddy Waters and Willie Dixon

CHICAGO The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, announced that for the 32nd Chicago Blues Festival, will pay tribute to the legends of blues, Muddy Waters (1913-1983) and Willie Dixon (1915-1992).

This year the festival will take place from 12 to 14 June. On June 12, will be a tribute to Waters, "the father of modern Chicago blues"; and Dixon, "the poet laureate of the blues" will take place on June 14th starting at 5:30 pm at the Petrillo Band Shell in Grant Park.

These two musicians are standard in local music and the blues in general. They have influenced generations of musicians as the Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Chuck Berry and Buddy Guy, as well as countless artists blues, jazz and rock'n'roll.

In the event, participate relatives, former bandmates, friends and even "protected" from these musicians. Billy Branch and the Son of Blues will be those who will start the celebration that day.
