Mick Jagger en el diario secreto de Cecil Beaton

Un nuevo y apasionante libro recorre las opiniones de algunos de los protagonistas de sus retratos, de la mano de su biógrafo oficial

34 años después de su muerte en 1980, su biógrafo oficial Hugo Vickers , ha decidido quitarle el polvo a los diarios que el británico escribía entre unas y otras sesiones, de los cuales algunos , ya se habían descubierto dejando patente,  su clara obsesión por la belleza y la perfección. "La belleza es la palabra más importante del diccionario", decía Beaton. "Es sinónimo de perfección, esfuerzo, verdad y bondad".

Sin embargo, las citas que hoy ven la luz en el libro Cecil Beaton: "Portraits and Profiles", distan de ese poético lugar, bajando a la tierra a algunos de los idealizados personajes,  ante los que disparó su cámara. En el libro –que será publicado globalmente en septiembre–, afirma que:  Mick Jagger "bien podría haber sido un eunuco",  y que el rostro de Grace Kelly,  "se parece sospechosamente a un ternero". 

Si hubo una chica encargada de acuñar el término groupie , durante los espídicos años que unieron las décadas de los sesenta y setenta, ésa fue,  la formada Anita Pallenberg. En 1968, Beaton la fotografiaba junto a Mick Jagger,  pero para el fotógrafo, el músico de Rolling Stones,  no sería más que un compendio de contradicciones. Así le describió tras la sesión: "Es muy amable, de maneras ultracorrectas. Estaba fascinado con las líneas cóncavas de su cuerpo, piernas, brazos. La boca casi demasiado grande, pero es guapo y feo, masculino y femenino, un fenómeno extraño. Su apariencia es la de una mujer cohibida , de mediana edad , residente en los suburbios".

An exciting new book covers the views of some of the protagonists of his portraits, from the hand of his official biographer 

34 years after his death in 1980, his official biographer Hugo Vickers, has decided to dust off the British daily writing sessions between each other, some of which had already been discovered clearly showing his clear obsession beauty and perfection. "Beauty is the most important word in the dictionary," said Beaton. "It is synonymous with perfection, effort, truth and goodness." 

However, events that today see the light in the book Cecil Beaton: "Portraits and Profiles", far from the poetic place, down to earth some of the idealized characters, before he shot his camera. In the book, which will be released globally in September, states that: Mick Jagger "might have been a eunuch," and that the face of Grace Kelly, "looks suspiciously like a calf." 

If there was a girl responsible for coining the term groupie, over the years espídicos joined the sixties and seventies, that was, the Anita Pallenberg formed. In 1968, Beaton photographed her with Mick Jagger, but for photographer, musician Rolling Stones, is nothing more than a compendium of contradictions. So he described after the session: "It's very kind of ultracorrectas ways was fascinated with the concave lines of his body, legs, arms Almost too big mouth, but is handsome and ugly, male and female, a strange phenomenon... its appearance is that of a self-conscious woman of middle age, living in the suburbs. "
