Subasta Stone.

Stone Auction . Velvet trousers Mick Jagger shared with Keith Richards up for auction

A pair of green velvet trousers first owned by The Rolling Stones‘ Mick Jagger – and later lent to bandmate Keith Richards – are currently on sale in an online auction.

The garment – custom-made in the 1960s for Jagger – is one of the star lots in the ongoing ‘Marvels of Modern Music’ auction, which is being held by the Boston-based RR Auctions. Online bidding is currently underway, and will conclude on Thursday (February 16).

The velvet trousers were first worn by Jagger in 1968, before he began sharing them with Richards. They were later gifted to Gram Parsons after the late musician moved in with the Stones guitarist following Parsons’ departure from The Byrds in the summer of 1968.

Richards and Parsons formed a close friendship, with one mutual friend – Pamela Des Barres – claiming that the pair were “kind of in love.”

“I’m sure they never did anything physical, but they had this incredible mutual admiration society,” Des Barres recalled. “They understood each other and wanted to take parts of each other and make them their own… They took different pieces of clothing from each other and traded. Gram started wearing makeup like Keith and Keith started wearing Nudie bells. It was incredible to watch.”

Parsons, who also played in The Flying Burrito Brothers, died in 1973 from an overdose of morphine and alcohol.

The velvet trousers are currently going for $1481 (£1188), but are expected to be sold for at least $10,000 (£8000) by Thursday.

Conoció a mi familia y a mis amigos. ¿Y dónde iba a ir?

Mick Jagger at the Fernando "Lobo" Núñez home , almost a year after the historic visit to Uruguay (Remembering)

The documentary Olé Olé! Trip Across Latin America, premiered in September, records the visit of Mick Jagger, to the Lobo Núñez home.

A year later, how do you remember Mick Jagger's visit?

And ... to my house came the main star of popular music. Nobody has been that long in number one. And I saw a man, with the humility of a great, very intelligent and very respectful. He is no fool and has a great ear. Although he is a rocker, he feeds on everything, and in every place, he will see the post. Going to see a rock band should suck an egg, without disrespecting the rock bands. In Cuba you will see a rumba or in Bahia a good block. In Sympathy for the Devil, he showed a musical joy, a vitality, an energy like no other. And from the anecdote that came to my house the night of my birthday, what I understood is that one artist came to see another. bye

What did they exchange?

Knowledge. He said he was very impressed by the rhythm, "very rich and powerful". I showed him how he made the drums, and was surprised by its completion. He entered a neighborhood house, with simple and humble people, he liked the style of Spanish house, with an open patio and a tree in the middle. He met my family and my friends. He was Rada and his children, Francisquito Fattoruso with Dinamita Pereda, Bernard Fowler ,  and Zorrito Von Quintero, who put everything together for him to come. But he liked to see three generations playing the drum: my grandson, my son and me. He knew a neighborhood in peace, not a troubled neighborhood, as they say, a neighborhood with social problems, that is everywhere. And it's all in the documentary, it's already historical. For the cons! And for those who suck, and said how it's going to go there.¿And where would I go? Mick Jagger took water from the tap in my house, the water I took, they told me I should have taken from the jerrycan. ¿And me who guarantees me that this is not from the tap? I gave her the same water that my mother took during her 84 years.
