La abrasadora tarde del domingo de octubre de 1969 anunciaba el último suspiro de un verano que había visto a casi 500,000 hippies reunirse durante tres días de paz, amor y estupefacientes y revoltosos revolcándose en el barro en el festival de música de Woodstock.
El guitarrista de los Rolling Stones Brian Jones había muerto, Mick Taylor se había unido en su lugar y el resto de la banda se había reagrupado en una mansión en Los Ángeles durante su primera gira por los Estados Unidos en tres años.
Los Swinging Sixties casi habían terminado, aunque Mick Jagger ciertamente no había terminado con el hedonismo cuando reclutó los servicios de una chica rubia desnuda.
Decidió que haría una sesión de fotos , que la banda estaba haciendo con el fotógrafo británico de celebridades Terry O'Neill , un poco más emocionante.
Esas fotos, que Jagger le aseguró que nunca serían vistas públicamente, personificaban el glamour obsceno de los Stones.
Hoy, particularmente desde el advenimiento del movimiento #MeToo, las imágenes de una mujer joven desnuda sentada en el suelo bajo la mirada de cinco hombres vestidos y mayores parecen inquietantes.
Pero en los años sesenta, simplemente hizo que los Stones se vieran aún más frescos.
En cuanto a la chica de 18 años, mirando provocativamente a la cámara en algunos disparos y dándole la espalda a los demás, se la identificó solo como 'Angel'.

Otro informe dijo que la "pequeña admiradora rubia con un vestido de punto largo" acababa de pasar cuando Jagger, "con el entusiasmo de un hombre que pedía una taza de té del British Rail", le había dicho casualmente que se "quitara el vestido" entra en la imagen '.
Ahora, casi 50 años después. Ella es Leslie Aday (entonces Edmonds), no es una mero admiradora, sino la chica de rock por excelencia.
Leslie está feliz de revelar lo que realmente pasó ese día con los Stones.
Ella se mudó a California desde el estado de Nueva York a principios de 1969 para trabajar como niñera.
Al encontrarse en la calle, le ofrecieron un techo en la mansión de los Stones, propiedad del legendario cantante Stephen Stills.
La gerencia de los Stones tuvo problemas constantemente para encontrar personal que le permitiera atender las necesidades peculiares de toda la noche de la banda, y ahí es donde entró Leslie. Ella explica: 'Alguien sería contratado pero luego se quejarían diciendo:' ganamos ' "No haremos sandwiches de mantequilla de maní y jalea a las tres de la mañana". Pero eso estuvo bien para mí '.
En la mañana de la sesión de fotos, recuerda levantarse temprano para preparar el desayuno y luego darse un baño. Ella saltó desnuda, dice, no por ninguna razón descarada sino porque 'eso es lo que hacía la gente en esos días'.
Cuando se dio cuenta de que una sesión de fotos estaba a punto de tener lugar, pensó para sí misma: "Será mejor que consiga una toalla." Al pasar volando, desnuda, Jagger sugirió que podría querer unirse a ellos.
Ella dice que Jagger le dijo: "Sería bueno que estuvieras en esta foto. Lo vamos a usar para nuestros recuerdos de nuestra gira. Es solo personal.
"Famosas últimas palabras", dice ahora. Una semana después, las fotos se publicaron en todo el mundo, desde la revista musical Rolling Stone hasta la British Press.
Leslie dice: "No sabía cómo sentirme porque me habían mentido".
Aunque su aparición en las fotos había sido improvisada, ella se esfuerza por enfatizar que ella no era una ingenua de ojos estrellados que se despojó a las órdenes de Jagger, sin importar lo halagador que pudiera ser para su ego.
De hecho, ella dice que ni siquiera reconoció a la banda cuando llegó por primera vez a la casa, agregando maliciosamente: "Si hubieran sido los Beatles, podría haber sabido quiénes eran".
Sin embargo, conoció a Jagger rápidamente y pronto tuvo una aventura con él.

Se volvió a conectar con Keith Richards en 1977, en Nueva York, en una noche de Acción de Gracias en la casa de su manager, con Leslie cocinando pavo. Para entonces ya tenía una hija de dos años, Pearl.
Leslie recuerda haber abordado a Richards sobre la infame sesión fotográfica desnuda, diciendo que se había sentido 'un poco traicionada'.

The scorching Sunday afternoon in October 1969 heralded the last gasp of a summer that had seen nearly 500,000 hippies gather for three days of peace, love and drug-addled wallowing in the mud at the Woodstock music festival.
The Rolling Stones guitarist Brian Jones had died, Mick Taylor had joined in his place and the rest of the band had regrouped at a mansion in Los Angeles during their first U.S. tour in three years.
The Swinging Sixties were almost over — although Mick Jagger certainly wasn’t finished with hedonism as he enlisted the services of a naked blonde girl.
She would, he decided, make a photoshoot the band were doing with the British celebrity photographer Terry O’Neill just a little more exciting.
Those photos, which Jagger assured her would never be seen publicly, epitomised the raunchy glamour of the Stones.
Today, particularly since the advent of the #MeToo movement, images of a naked young woman sitting on the ground under the gaze of five clothed, older men seem unsettling.
But in the Sixties, it simply made the Stones look even cooler.
As for the 18-year-old girl, peering provocatively at the camera in some shots and with her back turned in others, she was identified only as ‘Angel’.
Many explanations emerged as to who she was and why she was there.
One suggested she’d jumped a wall into the garden and insisted on being in the photos because she was the Stones’ biggest fan.
Another report said the ‘little blonde admirer in a maxi-length knitted dress’ had just been passing when Jagger, ‘with the enthusiasm of a man ordering a British Rail cup of tea’, had casually told her to ‘get your dress off and get in the picture’.
Now, nearly 50 years later . She is Leslie Aday (then Edmonds), no mere awestruck fan but the quintessential rock chick.
Leslie is happy to reveal what really happened that day with the Stones.
She had moved to California from New York state earlier in 1969 to work as a nanny.
Finding herself on the street, she was offered a roof over her head at the Stones’ mansion, which was owned by legendary singer Stephen Stills.
The Stones management constantly struggled to find staff to administer to the band’s peculiar up-all-night needs, and that is where Leslie came in. She explains: ‘Someone would be hired but then they’d complain, saying, “We won’t make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at three o’clock in the morning”. But that was OK by me.’
On the morning of the photo-shoot, she recalls getting up early to prepare breakfast, then going for a swim. She jumped in naked, she says, not for any saucy reason but because ‘that’s what people did in those days’.
When she realised a photo-shoot was about to take place, she thought to herself: ‘I’d better get a towel.’ As she flitted past, naked, Jagger suggested she might want to join them.
She says Jagger told her: ‘It would be nice if you would be in this picture. We’re just gonna use it for our memories of our tour. It’s just personal.’
‘Famous last words!’ she says now. A week later the photos were published all over the world — from the music magazine Rolling Stone to the British Press.
Leslie says: ‘I didn’t know how to feel about it because I’d been lied to.’
Although her appearance in the photos had been impromptu, she is at pains to stress that she was no starry-eyed ingenue who stripped on Jagger’s command, no matter how flattering that might be for his ego.
In fact, she says she didn’t even recognise the band when she first arrived at the house, adding mischievously: ‘If they’d been the Beatles, I might have known who they were.’
However, she got to know Jagger quickly and was soon having an affair with him.
‘How did they used to put it in the olden days? We had a scene,’ she says. ‘We had a lot of fun. We both had a similar sense of humour.’
Perhaps this was why the Stones were keen to claim naked Leslie was just a random passing fan. Certainly a pattern for sexual conquests was already set.
As for Leslie’s own fling with Jagger, it only lasted a few weeks.She moved back to her Pennsylvania home in December 1969.
For their part, the Stones ended their tour with a big, free concert at Altamont in California.
It wasn’t, however, the end of Leslie’s relationship with the Stones.
She reconnected with Keith Richards in 1977, in New York, spending Thanksgiving at his manager’s home, with Leslie cooking the turkey. By then she had a two-year-old daughter, Pearl.
Leslie recalls tackling Richards about the infamous nude photo-shoot, saying she had felt ‘a little betrayed’.
She says he replied casually: ‘I think it’s a great ****ing photograph and you should be well proud of it!’
Although she has never made a penny from the picture, Leslie says all the Stones have used it to illustrate their autobiographies. As the epitome of the rock chick
