Keith Richards: a tribute to the roots (Crosseyed Heart Analysis)

The iconic Rock guitar world, returns with a solo work, in which the voice of his life partner, Mick Jagger, not strange at all.

It's hard to hear Mick Jagger without Keith Richards guitar, and maybe that's why, always suspect discs, the more sensual mouth of rock and roll, up a corporation formed by a robot and trendy executives at his record.

But however one strange, even remotely, the voice of Jagger, Richards discs in. It's because what they "sing?" Keith, it fits right into his voice, that asthmatic grunt old animal, loosing every time he touches you lift the tone, to inject enthusiasm the chorus of his songs. Crosseyed Heart This is definitely an honest display of roots in all its acceptances to Paramount Chess and Sun Stax. Because Richards stung by pressing PLAY on the recorder when the inspiration comes from the distant past.

This album, which comes after a hiatus of 23 years (the last was Main Offender, '92), bringing domesticated blues, pure groove Vocalion: the album's title track (by far the best and shortest ), and "Goodnight Irene", the precursor Leadbelly. But the old Keith, revisits these roots, which are already dizzy & packed, originally from Kingston, as "Love Overdue" (Gregory Isaacs) and even has time to cause a rockabilly quagmire, with "Blues In The Morning" with the saxophone of Bobby Keys post mortem.

The guitars are played with purity, and practical style, and never be allowed to transgress the boundaries of the post-valvular stridency. Unless, of course, when his cousin Telecaster, forces him to sneak into the spokes, with a potential future classic like "Trouble". To adjust the bow gift, Richards also dropped a couple of those songs low-fi with your brand, "Illusion" (a duet with Norah Jones), and casually "Just A Gift". But it was not necessary: by then the disk, had already won the battle....
