La precoz pintora de los Rolling Stones vuelve a sonar fuerte. Paloma Newbould, una niña inglesa de 11 años que vive en Algarrobo desde los tres, acaba de terminar un cuadro de Keith Richards, tras pintar en 2013 a su tío Charlie Watts, y en 2014 a Ronnie Wood.
La joven artista está a punto de terminar , sexto grado de Primaria , en el colegio Genaro Rincón de Caleta de Vélez. El día 24 se marchará a Londres, donde tiene previsto fijar su residencia, ya que su madre, Jane, ha decidido mudarse allí para cuidar de su padre, enfermo de Alzhéimer. «Estamos planeando un viaje a EE UU, para entregarle el cuadro a Keith Richards, espero poder verlos otra vez en directo y compartir unos minutos en el ‘backstage’», confiesa Newbould.
La pequeña puede presumir ya , de ser la retratista oficial de la banda. La joven ha pintado ya sendos cuadros a Charlie Watts, y a Ronnie Wood. El motivo de esta conexión es que Newbould es sobrina de Charlie Watts, ya que la hermana de su padre , es la esposa de Charlie
En el Santiago Bernabeu
En Londres fue donde la joven le entregó, en julio de 2013, su cuadro, un óleo en el que el músico aparece mucho más joven, inspirándose en una fotografía de hace más de treinta años. «Le gustó mucho, porque estaba muy favorecido», bromea. «Para mí es un orgullo haber podido pintar estos tres cuadros», asegura satisfecha.
El 25 de junio de 2014, la menor acudió al Santiago Bernabeu, en Madrid, para entregarle a Wood su retrato. Allí, junto a su hermano gemelo, Óscar, compartieron unos minutos en los camerinos con los cuatro integrantes.
«A Ronnie Wood le gustó también mucho, porque salía igualmente muy favorecido, como en una foto de hace varias décadas», rememora su hermana. Ahora Newbould espera que al tercer integrante de la banda , también le guste su obra. «Ya sólo me falta Mick Jagger, espero poder pintarlo a él también al año que viene», concluye.
